A place of power and pilgrimage
People have made the pilgrimage here since the 15th century. The healing spring, the silence and the location high above the valley make Maria Waldrast a place to breathe deeply. The monastery inn invites you to stop for Tyrolean cuisine.
Hiking and family outing
The “Schöpfungsweg” (Creation Trail, about 3 km, stroller-friendly) leads through a small adventure world – ideal for families. Those who want to climb higher continue to the Waldraster Jöchl or to the Serles, the “Altar of Tyrol”.
Getting there
By car via the toll road from Mützens up to the car park by the monastery, or alternatively by hiking shuttle. From the Koppeneck top station of the Serlesbahnen (Stubaital) a lovely high-altitude trail also leads across.
