Lake Obernberg lies at the far end of the idyllic Obernbergtal – a turquoise natural monument framed by larches and a mountain backdrop. It is considered one of Tyrol’s most beautiful photo spots. Natural monument and photo motif
The clear, shimmering turquoise water and the chapel on the shore make the lake one of the region’s most popular subjects. An easy loop trail runs around the shore – ideal with children too.
Hiking in the Obernbergtal
From the lake, further tours open up into high-alpine terrain, for example towards the Tribulaune. This quiet side valley is an insider tip for anyone seeking nature without the crowds.
Getting there and cooling off
By car via Gries am Brenner into the Obernbergtal to the car park, then on foot to the lake. The water is refreshingly cool – a welcome way to cool down on hot summer days.
